Use the smallest structure that makes behavior clear and testable.

Syntax

Route -> Controller -> Service when warranted -> Model/DB -> Response

Example

Controller: parse request + authorize + response
Form Request: input rules
Service: cohesive multi-step business operation
Model/query: persistence
Policy: resource permissions

Common mistakes

Do not create layers for every CRUD operation; define transaction boundaries explicitly.
