What it is

PHP executes statements inside PHP tags; statements end with semicolons.

When to use it

Use strict typing in application files and omit the closing tag in PHP-only files.

declare(strict_types=1);

Example

$name = "Ada";
echo "Hello, {$name}";

Common mistakes

Strict types is per calling file; it does not validate HTTP input.
