INSERT

INSERT creates rows.

What it is

INSERT creates rows.

When to use it

Persist a new record with explicit columns.

Syntax

INSERT INTO orders (user_id, total_cents, status) VALUES (?, ?, ?);

Example

INSERT INTO orders (user_id, total_cents, status)
VALUES (7, 1250, 'pending');

Common mistakes

Application examples must bind untrusted values; always enforce foreign keys and required fields.
